The main difference is that while the external design is brand new, the internal mechanism remains the same.
And don’t worry about potential troubleshooting. Just look up how to fix any issues you may have while learning for the other two models and follow through.
If you frequently perform free-motion sewing, consider getting this model with the Fixed Needle Bar feature.
What’s the Fixed Needle Bar?
When the needle bar is not fixed and you attempt free motion on heavy fabric, the needle may move a bit left and right, causing your stitch line to look crooked. An unfixed bar, of course, has a purpose in that it protects the needle from breaking. If you know what you’re doing and want to ensure your stitches stay straight when free motion quilting thicker materials, the fixed needle bar feature is a must.

You should only consider getting the Fixed Needle Bar feature if you regularly perform free motion sewing. When the needle bar is not fixed and you’re trying to free motion on some heavy fabric, the needle can slightly move left and right. Of course, an unfixed bar has its function since it can prevent the needle from breaking. But, if you know what you’re doing and you want to make sure your stitches remain straight when free motion quilting heavy fabrics, a fixed needle bar is a must.
